Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers spoke post-match about the Hoops’ second-half comeback, which earned Celtic a vital Champions League point despite being 1-0 down at halftime at Celtic Park, with Club Brugge in control.

After a below-par first half, Celtic had it all to do in the second half.

Rodgers discussed what he changed at halftime while also praising the character shown by his team to secure the vital point.

He said: (TNT Sports), “Second half, we adjusted a couple of things and we had a much better press, which allowed us to sustain attacks.

“It’s a brilliant finish from Daizen [Maeda]. We were much more courageous in the second half.

“So, so pleased with the second half. We kept going, showed determination right to the end. It’s a really good point against a good side and we’ll take that into our next Game.

“We’re still in a really good place. We’re still well on track [to get into the play-off stage].”

With a more aggressive press, Celtic were able to win the ball higher up the pitch.

Daizen Maeda’s iNFLuence in pressing and taking on the Brugge defense was pivotal, as the Japanese winger produced a moment of brilliance to score the equaliser.

His superb goal came out of nowhere, showcasing an unbelievable piece of skill and an even better finish past Simon Mignolet.

Ultimately, it’s a point gained considering Brugge’s impressive performance, as they are clearly the toughest side Celtic have faced at Celtic Park this year.

The Hoops now sit on 8 points from 5 Games, just two away from the crucial 10 that would almost guarantee a place in the next round of the Champions League.
