This time, it is a luxurious château in southern France called Château Rosabelle. The new 2024 Hulu series Vanderpump Villa offers a glimpse into this exclusive French estate where elite guests arrive, bringing along their set of issues. However, at the core of Vanderpump Villa episodes lie the lives and drama of her specially curated staff.

Lisa Vanderpump is considered among the most noted Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alums. She is also in the leading cast of Vanderpump Rules (2013- ), a spinoff of the former series based on the staff of her restaurant SUR, located in Hollywood. As the boss lady and her team navigate managing duties, the cameras also follow the establishment crew and show their interpersonal relationships.

Vanderpump Villa follows a group of Lisa Vanderpump’s hand-selected hospitality staff who are particularly hired to cater to every need of the guests at her exclusive French estate, Château Rosabelle.

“Each scintillating episode follows the elite staff as they try to provide luxurious, once-in-a-lifetime, Vanderpump-curated experiences for guests while dealing with rivalries, romances and raucous misadventures that come with living and working together 24/7,” reads the show’s official logline.

The cadet of young professionals includes Stephen Alsvig (events coordinator), Gabriella Sanon (events coordinator), Anthony Bar (executive chef), Caroline Byle (sous chef), Grace Cottrell (housekeeper), Emily Kovacs (housekeeper), Marciano Brunette (lead server), Priscilla Ferrari (server), Hannah Fouch (server), Eric Funderwhite (chateau manager), Telly Hall (mixologist) and Andre Mitchell (mixologist).

On 1 April 2024, Variety shared an interesting behind-the-scene story about how these people got on board. The producers had put out a casting call notice for various hospitality and kitchen roles. Amid everything else, it mentions the candidates must be willing to “navigate every extravagant desire of their well-to-do guests in the French countryside,” and have “television-ready charisma.” This might enable these staff members to reach the stratosphere of reality TV fame and open new doors in the future.

The unscripted docu-drama depicts how they take control of Château Rosabelle, along with balancing romantic feelings and drama when the first guests arrive at the opulent mansion.

The Haussmann-style villa is nestled among lush greenery in the French countryside. Located just a stone’s throw away from the medieval city of Carcassonne, Château Rosabelle is actually created within a 22,000 sq ft (around 2,044 sq m) property known as Château St. Joseph in real life. It was built in 1879, states Architectural Digest, and can be rented for big events.

Lisa Vanderpump teamed up with production designer James McGowan to add her personal touch to the château, in just three weeks. The foyer was decked in sulking pink from Farrow and Balls, while stunning mirrored furniture, intricate murals, damask fabric and huge floral arrangements amped up the overall glam quotient. Most of these unique pieces were purchased from Parisian art dealers, however, items like an oversized candle holder and a Gothic mirror were brought down from Vanderpump’s LA restaurant.

The gorgeous outdoor pool area was given a makeover with fringed umbrellas and lounge chairs from Business & Pleasure Co. Chandeliers from LA-based restaurant TomTom, LA restaurant, light up the grounds.

Speaking to Architectural Digest in April 2024 about what appealed to her the most about the property, Vanderpump said, “It’s got this majestic presence, which is what you need for a television show.”

“When I first found this château, one of the first things that really excited me about it was the height of the ceilings. That was so essential to me. To have the right kind of atmosphere. Big windows, lots of natural light.”

The first three episodes of the 10-part series premiered on Hulu on 1 April 2024.

The pilot episode shows how Vanderpump meticulously planned every aspect of her new venture. She has carefully checked the new crop of waiters and bartenders to offer a luxury experience for every guest. Despite being at the top of their Game, the newly recruited staff stumble on their opening day to meet Lisa’s standards.

The following episode shows another day of hard work as Château Rosabelle is brimming with guests. Suddenly, a heated argument spurts in front of the guests, and their boss is forced to storm out to set her staff straight. With no room for error ahead of the grand marquee event, only time can tell if the team Vanderpump has hired is professional enough to leave their differences behind and help their guest of honour pull off a secret proposal.

The third episode essentially revolves around a group of close friends who arrive at the Vanderpump Villa to celebrate a ‘rebirth party’. Drama crops up as two ladies develop romantic feelings for the same co-worker. On the other hand, when Funderwhite tries to regain managerial duties while receiving pushback from Vanderpump and Alsvig.

Although the next two episodes are yet to be released, IMDb offers a brief synopsis. The fourth episode shall see rising tension among the cast because of a staff member. It causes major issues which only accentuate with the arrival of a new group of visitors. Soon the drama spills over to the forefront.

Next, it’s the coming of a band of eligible bachelors that get the women folk all excited to make the male members feel jealous. Brunette, on the other hand, finds himself in a tight spot with just about everyone after an epic night.
