US uni graduate’s warning over LinkedIn job offer scam that cost her $A3500
A recent university graduate has shared an emotional warning to other jobseekers after being scammed out of $A3500 in a fake LinkedIn job offer.
Jennifer Chernenko thought she finally found her “big break” in her hunt for a job after graduating from Georgia State University in the US when she was targeted by a scammer.
Chernenko said she had applied for hundreds of jobs when she was contacted on LinkedIn by someone claiming to be an employee at Bold Business, one of the companies she applied to work as a social media specialist.
