Uber Eats driver accused of damaging resident’s vehicle after leaving car in neutral while making delivery
A Melbourne man has claimed his car has been severely damaged by an Uber Eats driver’s vehicle after it rolled down a street during a food order drop-off.
Wyndham Vale resident Alex Wilson posted about the incident on social media, which occurred late on Sunday night on Mermaid Cres.
He shared a series of CCTV images, which appear to show the Uber Eats driver dropping food off at a neighbouring house at 9.51pm.

Wilson claims that while the Uber Eats driver was delivering the food, the man’s vehicle began rolling down the street.
“I’ve got him on multiple CCTV, he’s running after his car down the street,” Wilson said.
“He (hadn’t) realised his car was rolling away.”
It was only on the following morning that Wilson noticed his black Toyota Yaris had been severely damaged, as he subsequently photos posted to social media showing several long scratches along one side of the car.
The vehicle’s side mirror had also been damaged, with a part of it found lying on the ground nearby.
“The least you could of done was left a note or given us the heads up,” Wilson said.
“I have a fiancé who’s currently seven-and-a-half months pregnant, we need our second car for day-to-day activities.”
According to Wilson, because the Uber Eats order was completed, he was only able to get the name of the driver, and not his car’s registration.
The incident has been reported to police.
“Police were told a delivery driver left a vehicle unattended and in neutral,” Victoria Police told 7NEWS.com.au.
“Investigations remain ongoing.”
In a statement to 7NEWS.com.au, an Uber spokesperson said: “Uber Eats takes this type of report seriously, we are currently looking into the incident.”
Police have urged anyone with any information to contact Crime Stoppers.
