Travis Kelce wears many hats as an NFL star, movie producer, golf enthusiast, and pop princess Taylor Swift’s significant other. Now, he can add “game show host” as another feather to his cap after being enlisted by Prime Video to present its new TV show Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?

A spin-off of the popular Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? quiz show franchise, the upcoming series comprises 20 episodes and is produced by MGM Alternative, which is part of Amazon MGM Studios. Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? will premiere on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories; its official release date has yet to be announced.

The show puts a spin on its Emmy-nominated predecessor’s format by having an adult contestant answer 11 questions spanning various subjects from elementary school curriculum, with the help of famous names such as actors and athletes instead of fifth grade students.

These trivia questions can range from multiple choice, true-or-false, or short-answered ones. For the final question — which is something a typical sixth grader should be able to answer — the contestant gets to discuss it with a Celebrity of choice, in order to clinch the ultimate prize of USD 100,000.

“I grew up loving game shows, and I’m excited to be following in the footsteps of so many TV icons by hosting my very first one with Are you Smarter than a Celebrity? The original show is a great success, so to be bringing a new format with everyone’s favourite celebrities to the screen, will definitely be entertaining. I’m just happy to be on the hosting side of the equation here and excited to see how these famous faces keep up,” said Kelce, who’s a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.

This isn’t Kelce’s first time working on a TV project. Back in 2016, he starred in Catching Kelce, a reality dating show that saw 50 women vying for his affection. Kelce dated the winner, Maya Benberry, for a few months before they split. In March 2023, he made his Saturday Night Live (SNL) hosting debut.

Apart from his new gig as host of Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity, Travis Kelce has been keeping busy with various ventures during his NFL offseason period. Earlier this year, it was revealed that he had produced a film titled My Dead Friend Zoe, which premiered in March at the SXSW Film & TV Festival to a standing ovation. Also in March, Kelce flew into Singapore for a few days to support his girlfriend Taylor Swift at her Eras Tour concerts in the city.

He has dabbled in F&B and music too. Kelce recently teamed up with his friend and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to open a Kansas City steakhouse called 1587 — set to launch in early 2025 — and has organised Kelce Jam, a music festival on May 18 featuring musicians such as Lil Wayne, Diplo and 2 Chainz.

On the personal front, Kelce has been spending quality time with his family and loved ones. He continues to host his weekly podcast New Heights with his brother Jason — who recently retired from the NFL — and they held a live podcast show called New Heights Live: We Gotta Talk About It on April 11. The event took place at their alma mater University of Cincinnati, and later turned into a surprise commencement ceremony where both Kelce brothers were awarded their diplomas.

The Kelces had graduated a few years ago but never got to attend their actual commencement ceremonies back then. The crowd erupted into cheers as Travis collected his diploma while chugging down a can of beer.

Kelce and Swift have been frequently spotted together as well. The couple went on vacation in the Bahamas after she concluded the Asian leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour, and were together at Coachella last weekend to support their friends Ice Spice and Jack Antonoff, who were performing. They were spotted dancing with other Celebrity pals Sabrina Carpenter, Barry Keoghan, Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber.
