Former Belgian international Eden Hazard is set to make a return to Stamford Bridge this weekend for the Soccer Aid match.

Eight months after announcing his retirement, Hazard, who played for Chelsea for seven years before moving to Real Madrid in 2019, will join the Rest of the World squad for the charity event. During his tenure at Chelsea, he made 352 appearances, scored 110 goals, and provided 85 assists.
The Soccer Aid match, featuring teams of celebrities and former professionals, aims to raise funds for UNICEF. Historically, the event has amassed over £90 million. This year, the England XI will face off against a World XI, which includes famous faces like Sir Mo Farah, Usain Bolt, Danny Dyer, and Lee Mack. Hazard will be playing alongside fellow Chelsea alumni Petr Cech, Michael Essien, and Jon Obi Mikel.
Hazard seems to be gearing up for the game with serious preparation, sharing an Instagram post of himself cycling up a mountain captioned, “Climbing to the top.”

The England team, managed by former Chelsea player and manager Frank Lampard, features Joe Cole and Gary Cahill. Reflecting on his upcoming participation, Hazard expressed his fondness for his time at Chelsea, saying, “I spent seven years [at Chelsea], the best memories of my Football career. I met great players, not just inside the team but also outside the club. It was seven years of pure happiness. When you leave, you always feel a bit sad – but this club is always in my head. It’s going to be at Stamford Bridge with friends, so it is going to be a great night.”
