MLB pick today: Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 over Oakland Athletics (-126), 3:37 pm ET

The best and most reasonable play this afternoon is for the Rays, the best team in baseball, to cover the run line against the A’s. Taj Bradley will work for the Rays, while Paul Blackburn takes the bump for the Athletics.

Blackburn will be making only his fourth appearance of the season. He has had 2 great starts and one that was not. However, the Rays tend to pound right-handed pitching, so it is likely that Blackburn will struggle this afternoon. Bradley on the other hand, has had a typical rookie campaign. There have been some moments of brilliance as well as some struggles. That being said, facing the A’s lineup should not be too much of an issue for him.

When the bullpens get involved, that is never to Oakland’s advantage as the A’s have the worst bullpen in the league by some way. For that reason, backing the Rays to cover the run line will be our play.

MLB pick today: Detroit Tigers vs Minnesota Twins – Under 7.5 runs (-102), 7:10 pm ET

We’re more than 2 months into the season, and Sonny Gray still has an ERA barely over 2.00. He’s made 13 starts and has accumulated an ERA of 2.25 ERA. This spot also involves one of the most profitable spots in baseball – Gray at home. The right-hander has made 7 starts at Target Field this season and has posted a 1.71 ERA. Opponents are hitting just .226 in that time, and to no surprise, that has resulted in a lot of low-scoring games.

Matthew Boyd on the other hand, is not a great pitcher, but on the road, he owns a 2.93 ERA and has held hitters to just a .184 batting average. Based on Boyd’s road performances and Gray’s recent performances, backing the under will be our play.

MLB pick today: Texas Rangers ML over Los Angeles Angels (-134), 8:05 pm ET

Tonight, we get our first legit pitchers’ duel when Shohei Ohtani and Nathan Eovaldi take the mound for their respective teams and it should lead to a thriller. Over his last 8 starts, Ohtani has a 4.88 ERA and has fallen victim to the long ball on numerous occasions (11 homers allowed, including 4 multi-homer games). The Rangers rank 7th in the MLB with 90 home runs so Ohtani could run into some trouble.

Eovaldi has a 2.49 ERA, but he has pitched to an absurd 1.22 ERA across his last 8 starts, dating back to April 29. With these pitchers trending in opposite directions, backing the Rangers to win will be our play.

CONCACAF Nations League pick today: Mexico vs USA – Tie (+200), 10:00 pm ET

The USMNT prepares to lock horns with Mexico in the CONCACAF Nations League semifinal, and there’s every chance that the teams will still be tied after regulation. Each team went unbeaten in the group stage but tying matches became a habit for Mexico, which has drawn 3 of its last 4 Games. The last time these teams met ended as a tie as well. Both teams have struggled for goals recently, therefore backing this Game to be tied after 90 minutes will be our play.
