According to the San Francisco Globe , the horse is named after the king who ruled Prussia from 1740 to 1786.

It has jet black fur and a long, curly mane, owned by Stacy Nazario of the Pinnacle Friesians farm. This farm is a famous breeder of Friasian horses, based in the Ozark Mountains, central highlands of America.

According to the North American Friesian Horse Association, this breed is native to the Netherlands. After being exported to many countries around the world, it runs the risk of being mixed and losing its pure breed.

However, after much effort by a group of Friesian horse enthusiasts in the early 20th century, they managed to maintain the purebred breed of this species.

Nazario, the horse’s owner, said he bought it in the Netherlands in 2007. Frederik even has his own Facebook page, with more than 12,500 followers. There are tons of artwork and videos on the site.

“Frederik, you are the most beautiful horse I have ever seen. Only God could create a work of art like that, it leaves me breathless and stunned,” wrote one fan on Facebook.

Frederik became a father last August. His son, Vaughn, looks exactly like his father and is now 9 months old.
