“The Civil Rights Kid”: A presentation by Ray Rickman at William Hall Library, Cranston
Join Ray Rickman in a tour-de-force presentation as he takes you on his quest for civil rights, from the 1966 “March Against Fear” in Mississippi with James Meredith, where he almost lost his life at the hands of the local sheriff, to taking on the Detroit School Department, to working side-by-side with Rosa Parks. It’s a story like no other, filled with courage, hope, humor, and abiding faith.
The event will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, 6:30pm – 7:30pm at the William Hall Library, 1825 Broad St, in Cranston.

Ray Rickman has conducted over 300 diversity and race relations workshops for Businesses, colleges, and government agencies over the past 30 years. The former executive director of the Providence Human Relations Commission, he was EEO Officer for both Lifespan and the City of Providence. He is also a former president of the American Civil Liberties Union and is currently the executive director of Stages of Freedom, an organization that promotes Black culture for the entire community.
