Tesla Cybertruck tires barely last 6,000 miles

Some Tesla Cybertruck owners are expressing frustration over rapid tire wear.

A member of the Cybertruck Owners Club reported that his vehicle, which has just 6,251 miles on the odometer, is showing significant tread wear and may require a replacement.

The user, based in Colorado, noted tread depths of 4/32 at the front and 5/32 at the rear, far below the new tread depths of 10/32 or 11/32.

According to TireRack, tyres are considered worn out at 2/32 of an inch, and replacement is recommended at 4/32 or 5/32 in adverse conditions.

The current Cybertruck tyres are either Pirelli Scorpion ATR all-seasons or Goodyear Wrangler Territory RT all-terrains. Similar issues have been reported by Rivian owners, who attributed premature wear to vehicle weight and driving modes affecting tyre alignment.

Tesla's Chill Mode, which limits acceleration, might mitigate tread wear by reducing power demand.

However, despite using Beast Mode sparingly and avoiding off-road driving, the weight of the nearly 7,000-pound Cybertruck may be contributing to the rapid wear.
