MLB pick today: St. Louis Cardinals vs Pittsburgh Pirates – Over 8.5 runs (-110), 11:35 am ET

Scoring should be expected in the game this morning and a lot of that has to do with the starting pitching matchup. Rich Hill will take the mound for the Pirates, while the Cardinals will counter with Miles Mikolas. In short, what we have here are two starting pitchers who ought to give up a lot of hard contact, which is likely to translate into a lot of early runs. For that reason, backing the over will be our play this morning.

MLB pick today: Detroit Tigers vs Chicago White Sox – Under 8.5 runs (-110), 2:10 pm ET

There’s been little offense for both teams in this series, and pitching has dominated so far. For the White Sox, Michael Kopech will start today and he’s 3-5 with a 4.52 ERA. Before getting hit around by the Angels in his last start, he had back-to-back starts going 7+ innings without allowing a run. On the other side, Matthew Boyd will start for the visiting Tigers and he is 3-4 with a 5.96 ERA. Boyd gave up 5 runs in his latest start but only 1 in his start before that.

Given the fact that neither offense has proven to be a threat in this series and both pitchers have found some success recently, backing the under will be our play.

MLB pick today: Houston Astros ML over Los Angeles Angels (-148), 2:10 pm ET

The Angels have been roughed up in Houston this weekend, as the Astros have won the first three games of this American League West Division series, while outscoring the Halos by a 20-10 margin. Houston is 18-5 in the past 23 games dating back to May 9, and the hot streak started when the team visited the Angels in Anaheim from May 8-10.

In addition, the Astros have been stacking wins, going 11-3 in the past 14 games following a win, while cashing in 11 of the past 16 games against a right-handed starting pitcher. Given their great form, backing the Astros to win and complete the sweep will be our play.

NBA pick today: Miami Heat +8.5 over Denver Nuggets (-110), 8:00 pm ET

The Miami Heat will look to even the series as they face the Denver Nuggets in Game 2 of the NBA Finals tonight. While the Heat were outclassed in Game 1, they showed some fight as the Nuggets were up by as much as 24 before ultimately losing by 11 points.

A bounce back performance should be expected here, as Miami have made adjustments after poor performances all postseason long. For that reason, backing the Heat to make Game 2 a much more competitive game will be our play tonight.
