Steve Kerr’s Team USA basketball squad has won their first three games of the 2024 Olympics and seems to be flying high.

While the team was obviously mired in some early controversy after the real reason Kawhi Leonard was kicked off the team emerged, everyone seems to have more or less moved on.

Not even Jaylen Brown’s weird antics could bring the American side down.

Throughout Team USA’s first three games, Kerr has shifted lineups a lot. Nobody is safe in the starting lineup, and nobody is safe from being benched.

Except one player.

That player? Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns.

This week Kerr identified Booker as Team USA’s best player and explained why he has been a mainstay in the starting lineup.

“He’s probably the guy who’s been most adaptable to go from a different role in the NBA to a new one here. He’s such a big scorer in the league, but just like in Tokyo, he’s adapted to being an on-ball guy, ball mover, the offense clicks when he’s out there and the defense is really good,” Kerr said.

“That’s why he’s started every Game and seems to be good with any combination.”

Booker’s skillset has been perfect for the Olympics, so it makes sense that Kerr is so high on him.

Will Booker continue playing at this level as Team USA continues its march to a gold medal? Time will tell.
