Steve Kerr Names Most Skilled Player On Team USA
Steve Kerr and Team USA won their opening game of the 2024 Olympics.
While the American side has been mired in controversy and various distractions, when the players took the court last Monday, they did exactly what they needed to do.
Key to Team USA’s big win against Serbia was the play of Kevin Durant.
Despite coming off an injury, the future Hall of Famer delivered in a big way.
Kerr was not surprised that Durant played as well as he did.
“It was incredible but not surprising given what I’ve seen from Kevin in the past,” Durant said in a conversation with Brian Windhorst.
“I’ve said it before, I think he’s the most skilled basketball player I’ve ever seen. The Game just comes so easily for him and a long layoff like that doesn’t seem to bother him. He was brilliant [against Serbia], obviously,” Kerr added. “Just shifted the Game as soon as he got on the floor.”
That is high praise from Kerr, especially considering that the star player of his own team — Stephen Curry — is on the roster as well.
Team USA has a long road ahead in order to secure gold in the 2024 Olympics. That said – having someone like Durant on the roster certainly helps.
Will Durant be able to add another gold medal to his mantle by the time this year’s Games come to a close? Time will tell.
