‘Sister Wives’ star Garrison Brown’s cause of death confirmed 2 months after he died at 25
Garrison Brown’s cause of death has been confirmed two months after he was found dead.
The son of “Sister Wives” stars Janelle Brown and Kody Brown passed away following a gunshot wound to the head, an autopsy report obtained by People Wednesday showed.
Alcohol poisoning was reportedly also noted as a contributing factor. The reality star had a .370 percent blood alcohol level, surpassing the legal limit of .08 percent.
Garrison’s manner of death was ruled as suicide, confirming previoUS News reports. He was 25 years old.
In March, law enforcement told TMZ that they did not suspect any foul play and that the TLC alum’s death was being investigated as a suicide.
Garrison’s brother, Gabriel Brown, was the one who reportedly found his sibling holding a handgun at his Flagstaff, Ariz., home, which he shared with roommates, after being asked to check on him.
Janelle, 55, had grown concerned for her son after she and a group of people received a worrisome text that read, “I want to hate you for sharing the good times. But I can’t. I miss these days.”
The reality star reportedly also told police at the time that her son had been estranged from his father Kody, 55, for some time and that the two were not speaking.
Garrison’s roommates reportedly also revealed he had been dealing with substance abuse issues.
His sister, Madison Brown, tried to spread awareness about mental health after what happened with her brother, noting that he did not suffer because of a “lack of love.”
“I am going to continue talking about mental Health and self-love until I’m blue in the face because I don’t think it’s talked about enough in a way that people understand it,” she said in an emotional video on Instagram in March.
“If you’re not happy with how you’re spending your time and you don’t feel fulfilled in life, then I would encourage you to reevaluate because it’s so fleeting and it’s so precious.”
Garrison was laid to rest on March 9 and his cousin Emma Brown wrote after the funeral service via Instagram, “i wish i was able to give you a hug and tell you how much you were loved.”
Janelle and Kody, who have been broken up since 2022, previously said in a statement that Garrison “was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him” and his loss will “leave such a big hole” in their lives.
The former couple, who rose to fame on a reality show about their polygamist family, share five more children.
Kody has a total of 18 children with four women, but he is currently only in a relationship with his legal wife, Robyn Brown.
