Signature New Paltz Doughnut Shop Quietly Closes Doors
Another sad tale of a locally owned and operated Business, and a fairly new one at that, closing their doors.
We have come to know this all too well, and it never gets any easier.
Rabble Rise Bakery New Paltz Shutters
It's quite common, especially during summertime, to swing by a favorite local Business to find their doors unexpectedly closed, perhaps with a sign indicating that they're on vacation, completing some renovations, or closed for a deep cleaning.
Sadly, a recent post in the New Paltz Community Forum facebook group had some thinking that a vacation or brief closure was the case for Rabble Rise, but sadly it was not.
It’s been a fantastically delicious time getting to be a part of this amazing food community. Our lease has come to an end and I (Rachel) have decided to hand over the keys to someone new so that I can focus my full attention on my role as a baking instructor at the Culinary Institute of America.
Rabble Rise owner Rachel went on to explain that juggling her teaching job at the CIA, and the Business on top of it, was becoming too much, but shared her gratitude for the 'support and all the doughnut love' that the New Paltz community has shown.
She did, however, indicate that she'd still continue to accept special orders and host some local events.

Remember When They Were Gunkin' Doughnuts?
Before Rachel first took the New Paltz sweet treat scene by storm as Rabble Rise, locals were previously introduced to her delicious creations through the name 'Gunkin' Doughnuts' in late 2021. The New Paltz community went wild for the unique flavors and tasty offerings
Announcing in May 2022 the Business would be rebranding and reinventing, Gunkin' Dougnuts turned into Rabble Rise, a 'multi-sale retail and wholesale doughnut bakery, event space, and caterer.
Needless to say, based on the 'oh no' responses from the community, outpouring of sentiments for the generosity and food allergy friendly offerings they offered, Rabble Rise, along with Rachel and her team, will surely be missed.
