Sick Dog Aimlessly Wandering Near Busy Road Finds Himself Utterly Alone with No One to Look Out for Him

A sick dog was walking as if lost right next to a busy freeway and in desperate need of help. DAR Animal Rescue in Greece immediately responded to a call from a Good Samaritan and went to get him.

The poor fellow was friendly but obviously not feeling well. His name is now Petros and Ermioni, the co-founder of DAR, writes, “My thought is that he wasn’t born as a stray dog, once had a family who didn’t care enough and when he got sick they didn’t care. When he got very sick they decided to abandon him to die somewhere else…We will never know the truth but that is my thought.”

When brought to the vet, Petros’ is shaking because of the several Mediterranean diseases he was diagnosed with. It would have taken months for him to get this sick and no one helped him. But now he has people looking out for him!

Adorable Petros is now looking for a home. Says Ermioni, “Petros today is under our care, still under treatment but in very good condition as you can see and our goal is to find for him the best home ever.”

Ermioni adds, “We do love him very much, we love every animal and it is impossible to keep him or all the Animals we care for and get bond with as we must continue being rescuers and have the space to keep safe the next animal in need…and the next one…and the next one. Unfortunately the number of the Animals in need is huge.”
