Tearful Joy Unleashed: Rescued Dog Leaps with Happiness, Discovering Its Adoption into a Loving and Caring Home

 

A dog’s sweet, emotional response to being saved from a high-kill animal shelter has gained him thousands of fans online.

What’s going on? Benny the pit bull appears in a video which shows him being adopted from a shelter – but he looks more confused than anything else at the start of the video

Hiding away: The shy pooch can be seen cowering away from the camera before being convinced to come out of his cage

‘This special little guy captured the hearts of everyone who stopped by his kennel,’ the staff at the shelter wrote on Facebook. ‘He hit the jackpot when this beautiful family chose to take him home.’

The pooch was finally adopted on December 10, just in time for Christmas, and when it came time to take him out of his cage at the shelter for the last time, his reaction was all caught on tape.

The filming begins as a shelter worker approaches Benny’s cage with a key. Confused and nervous, the black and white dog backs up through an opening at the back of his cage.

I’m free! As soon as he is taken out into the carpark, Benny begins running around, eager to take advantage of all the space

First Benny fidgets for a moment, then does his best to sit still, looking concerned about why he might be being removed from his cage.

Other dogs in the shelter start barking excitedly as Benny sits quietly, trying to contain himself.

When the worker finally enters the cage, the dog looks nervous and bows his head towards the ground, his tail wagging apprehensively.

But then, as the worker reveals a leash, puts it around his neck and leads him out of the cage, Benny seems to realize just what is happening.

He leaps and tries to break into an elated run before tugging on his lead, but although all the other dogs are barking, shy Benny stays totally quiet.

As they exit into the parking lot, Benny can’t contain his emotions as he leaps up at his new owners and excitedly takes in his surroundings.

After a quick bathroom break, the deliriously happy pup is taken to the car on his way to a new home.
