Seth Curry To Lakers Rumors Intensify
The Charlotte Hornets waived Seth Curry this past week ahead of what promises to be an exciting NBA offseason.
Seth originally inked a two-year, $8 million deal with the Dallas Mavericks back in 2023. Midway through the year he was sent to the Hornets in a deal that landed P.J. Washington in a Mavericks jersey.
There was a ton of excitement about Seth playing in Charlotte as that is where his dad, Dell Curry, made a name for himself. It even stole the attention away from those photos of Dell’s new wife that leaked out.
Unfortunately Seth’s 9 points per game on 32 percent shooting from beyond the arc didn’t move the needle a ton. There has been chatter over the last 24 hours that maybe he and the Hornets will still be able to find a way to move forward, but there is also a better-than-not chance he will go elsewhere.
If Seth does move on, he has previously been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers. Although his numbers with the Hornets weren’t great, he has historically been a lights out shooter.
Up until last year he consistently shot 40 percent from three dating back to 2017.
Given L.A.’s shooting woes over the past few years, he could be exactly what the team needs.
The question now is whether the Lakers are going to be able to get something done for Seth. They are currently neck deep in trying to acquire another Hall of Fame sharpshooter – but it remains to be seen how successful they will be.
Either way, Seth will almost certainly be playing in a different uniform come next season. Will he end up with the Lakers? Time will tell.
