Sarah Jessica Parker’s son, James, poses with dad Matthew Broderick in rare photo
Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are enjoying some family time with their eldest son.
James Wilkie Broderick, 21, took to Instagram Sunday to share some rare family photos with his famous parents during what appeared to be a nature walk.
In one snapshot, he appeared to be the same height as dad Matthew, 61, as they stood next to each other. He rocked a knit purple sweater and light gray skinny jeans, while the actor kept warm in distressed jeans and a lightweight jacket worn over a blue shirt.
Another image showed Matthew and Parker, 58, standing back to back on a grassy trail as the sun set behind them.
It’s unclear where they were, but a sign James posted in his carousel showed that hedgehogs could cross their path at any moment.
The “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” star and “Sex and the City” alum are also parents to 14-year-old twins, Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell.
The family of five posed for a rare selfie back in November 2023 that showed them all cuddled up in bed, and before that, they attended the “Some Like It Hot” Broadway premiere together in December 2022.
Parker and Broderick prefer to keep their family life private, but the actress has shared various milestones on social media for her eldest.
When James turned 20, she took to the ‘gram to share a throwback photo of him and recalled how much her life changed for the better when he was born.
“Today the kaleidoscope spins with all the memories. In all the glorious shapes, changes and perspectives you have brought to our lives,” she wrote.
He turned 19 while a student at Brown University, and Parker opened up about the mixed feelings she had on his special day.
“He doesn’t wake with us. He is in his life. Away. In his studies. Among new friends. Sending home details,” she penned alongside an image of James’ face.
“On this one, it’s bittersweet. Not to be with him. To wish him the most happiest of birthdays. … Balloons. Candles. Hoping every birthday wish to come true.”

The Primetime Emmy Award-winning star has been a bit more protective over her minor daughters, but in 2022, she revealed they’re mesmerized by her job.
“I showed my daughters [my Vogue 2021 cover] … and both my daughters’ hands went to their mouths and they were like, ‘You’re on the cover of Vogue?'” she recalled during her interview for Vogue’s “Life in Looks” series.
“I didn’t know they were aware of Vogue,” she added. “So, that was very touching to me.”
In September 2022, they joined her and Matthew on the red carPet for the premiere of “Hocus Pocus 2” in New York City.
