Sam Darnold is the backup quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, who are set to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII. What is Sam Darnold salary and contract with the 49ers?
Darnold is currently playing on the fifth-year option of his rookie contract, which pays him $18.858 million for the 2023 season. He will be an unrestricted free agent in 2024, unless the 49ers sign him to an extension or use the franchise tag on him.
Darnold signed a four-year contract worth $30.247 million with the Jets in 2018, after being drafted third overall in the 2018 NFL draft. His contract included a $20.167 million signing bonus and $30.247 million guaranteed.
