Rodgers Provides HUGE Callum McGregor Fitness Update
Brendan Rodgers has spoken pre-match about his decision to start Celtic captain Callum McGregor in midfield ahead of Tomoki Iwata this afternoon.
With McGregor’s last start coming against Dundee on February 28th, the Scottish midfielder has had a long road to recover from the Achilles injury suffered.
The Scottish midfielder will undoubtedly prove to be a vital player to have back at the Business end of the season, with Celtic supporters understandably excited about his return to the starting 11 this afternoon.
Rodgers said: [Celtic TV], “Callum obviously, his experience in these Games is very important for us, so I think that him, he’s not going to last the whole Game but we’ve got really good news on his fitness, his fitness has improved and what we’ve seen in training in the week, we can then start him in the Game.”
With his return this afternoon, Celtic look primed to put in a really impressive display against Aberdeen as they aim to reach yet another Scottish Cup final.
The Hoops have an incredible record in the tournament, having won the trophy an astonishing 41 times.
