Glasnow has battled Health issues since arriving in Tampa, but this is a step in the right direction, and he’ll face a more than manageable Oakland team here.

Oakland moved to 19-50 after defeating Tampa. The Athletics emotionally capitalized on their crowd last night, and they’ll now look to win their eighth straight contest. The Oakland offense is scoring 2.81 runs per Game, while batting .218, with a .279 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 6.70 ERA, with a 1.62 WHIP. Brent Rooker has produced a run in four of the last six Games, and he leads the team in home runs (13) and RBI (38). Esteury Ruiz has collected a hit in seven of the last ten Games, and he’s plated 28 RBI. leads the A’s in batting (.267), after recording a hit in five of the last six Games. Shea Langeliers came through big in Game with three RBI to bring him to second on the team with a total 29.

So what we have here is the worst team in the majors finding success against arguably the best team in the league, and something has to give here in the third contest. Tampa Bay has uncharacteristically dropped the first two contests by a solo run, and I simply think the talent gap finally decides to set in this Wednesday. Tyler Glasnow should be able to deliver another solid outing, and the bats will more than likely find a way to make Luis Medina uncomfortable. Oakland’s recent win streak has been nice to see, but it’s time for Tampa to put an end to that. Back the Rays for Game three.
