Police ‘aware’ of Drake’s feud with Kendrick Lamar after shooting at Toronto house, motive remains unclear
Law enforcement officials are aware of Drake’s heated feud with Kendrick Lamar amid their investigation into a shooting outside the “God’s Plan” rapper’s $100 million Toronto home.
Toronto Police Inspector Paul Krawczyk, of the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force, told the Toronto Sun on Tuesday that police have been briefed on the rap beef but said it was too early in the investigation to determine a motive for the shooting.
Despite the bad blood between Drake and Lamar, the “HUMBLE.” rapper has not been linked to the shooting.
Reports revealed early Tuesday that Drake’s security guard had been shot overnight outside of the hip hop star’s mansion in what was confirmed by cops to be a drive-by shooting.
The 48-year-old victim was hit around 2:10 a.m. ET by multiple gunshots. He was reportedly shot in the upper chest.
The guard, who became unconscious, was transported to Sunnybrook Hospital and received surgery. He is reportedly in “serious condition.”

It’s unclear if Drake, 37, was inside the home at the time of the incident and his reps have not responded to Page Six’s request for comment.
Toronto police taped off the property, which sits on Park Lane Circle in the ritzy Bridle Path neighborhood, and have remained on the scene as the investigation unfolds. While the incident was caught on tape, no descriptions of the vehicle were provided due to “video quality issues.”
The shooting occurred in the midst of Drake’s headline-making diss track drama with Lamar, 36.
Both artists, who were once close friends, have been releasing music containing scathing accusations about each other over the past few weeks.
In Lamar’s latest drop, “Meet the Grahams,” he accused Drake of having a “hidden daughter” — which the OVO founder vehemently denied.
“😂😂😂😂 nahhhh hold on can someone find my hidden daughter pls and send her to me…these guys are in shambles 🤣🤣🤣,” Drake, who notoriously concealed the existence of his son Adonis for years until being exposed by Pusha T in 2018, wrote on social media Friday.
In another track, Lamar accused Drake of being a “pedophile,” which Drake also shut down.
