Paul George’s Los Angeles Clippers flamed out in the first round of the NBA playoffs this year, losing to the Dallas Mavericks 4-2.

It was a disappointing conclusion to a year that started out with a lot of promise for L.A.

This week, on his podcast, George called out the coaching strategies involved with his team’s first-round series.

“We relied on too much isolation basketball,” he said.

“When you don’t make shots, you don’t have a chance in hell to win. In Game 4 and our win in Game 1, we played a lot faster. It was a quick pace. That’s how you gotta be… The teams that are still playing right now are young, we made it easy for [Dallas] to take over.”

George’s commentary here is also interesting because his future with the Clippers is very much in doubt right now.

The front office has refused to give her a long-term, maximum contract extension in the way it did to Kawhi Leonard.

As a result, two teams have popped up as potential suitors to steal him away from the Clippers.

One way or another, this promises to be an interesting summer for all parties involved.

Will George ultimately return to the Clippers next year? Time will tell.
