There is just 1 Monday Night Football game following 2 straight weeks of primetime double-header action, but it’s an intriguing matchup that will whet the appetites of football fans by itself. The 2-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs put their undefeated record on the line against the visiting New Orleans Saints, who are 2-2 and looking to bounce back from a 2-game losing streak.

Alvin Kamara to score a touchdown (-110) 

Kareem Hunt to record 50+ rushing yards (+120) 

Parlay odds: +687 

Part of the value in a Same Game Parlay, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is some of the plan here, as New Orleans running back Alvin Kamara scoring a touchdown would obviously work well with a cover by the Saints. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case with backing Kansas City running back Kareem Hunt to have a productive night on the ground. But even if he does, there is no reason why the visitors can’t keep it close. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Saints +5.5 (-110)

Despite their 4-0 record, the Chiefs have been far from dominant and are also banged up. They could very easily have lost 3 of their first 4 Games. Moreover, RB Isiah Pacheco was already on IR and now WR Rashee Rice is sidelined for the foreseeable future by a knee injury that he sustained during a Week 4 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. With 2 of QB Patrick Mahomes’ favorite weapons missing, there is no reason to think that Kansas City is suddenly going to win comfortably against a formidable foe in the Saints. Under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, New Orleans is #1 in the NFL in scoring at 31.8 points per Game. QB Derek Carr is in the top 5 in yards per pass attempt (8.2) and completion percentage (71.3). Although the Saints 2-2, they be the ones who are 4-0 (lost thrillers against the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons). Give me the visitors to cover.

Alvin Kamara to score a touchdown (-110)

Kamara has been a touchdown machine so far this season, which is nothing new for him. The former Tennessee standout has already found the endzone 6 times, 5 on the ground and 1 via a reception. I can see Kamara scoring either way on Monday. Carr loves getting the ball out quickly and he will likely be under some pressure from Chris Jones, so Kamara could have plenty of targets coming his way – including in the red zone. Count on him adding to his 2024 TD total.

Kareem Hunt to record 50+ rushing yards (+120)

With Pacheco out, Carson Steele had an opportunity the past couple of weeks to establish himself as RB1 in Kansas City. However, Steele’s production was modest at best and he lost a fumble early in Week 4 against the Chargers. Now it is Hunt’s turn to try and stabilize head coach Andy Reid’s backfield after he was recently signed as a free agent. The veteran out of Toledo got 14 carries last weekend and gained 69 yards. Hunt now faces a New Orleans run defense that is not as good as its yards allowed per Game (96.5) suggests. It is giving up 4.8 yards per attempt, the seventh most in the league. Hunt should be in line for a productive outing.
