The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints meet Sunday in NFL action from Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Here’s a New Orleans Saints vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Saints vs Buccaneers pick.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Betting Preview

In this year’s opener the Buccaneers took on the Washington CoMMAnders and powered out a 37-20 victory. Tampa Bay beat the Detroit Lions in Week 2 then fell 26-7 versus the Broncos. Game four was a 33-16 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, though.

Last Thursday versus the Atlanta Falcons, the Buccaneers were outscored 10-3 in the fourth quarter and eventually fell 36-30 in overtime. QB Baker Mayfield threw for 180 yards and three scores, while Mike Evans caught two TDs among his five grabs for 62 yards.

New Orleans Saints Betting Preview

Over on the Saints’ side, they opened up the year with a pair of big wins over the Panthers 47-10 and the Dallas Cowboys 44-19. Next came a pair of losses to drag the team back to 2-2, though. Those were versus the Falcons 26-24 and the Eagles 15-12.

On Monday versus the Chiefs, the Saints were down 16-7 heading into the fourth quarter. New Orleans ended up falling 26-13. QB Derek Carr logged 165 yards, two TDs and one pick. Rashid Shaheed caught four balls for 86 yards and a score.

New Orleans Saints vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Prediction

I’m going to lean toward the Saints. On Monday New Orleans posted just 220 total yards (174 passing) with 14 first downs and 4.3 yards per play. Carr came out of the Game late due to an oblique injury, capping a rough night out for the Saints. We’ll have to see how things work out in that regard.

As for Tampa Bay, they gave up a truckload of offense to the Falcons in their last outing. Atlanta mustered 550 total yards (447 passing), 6.8 yards per play and 28 first downs. The good news is that the Bucs’ own offense did fairly well outside of a lost fumble and a tepid 173 passing yards. The Saints should have some opportunities here, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a close, high-scoring matchup.

Andrew's Free Pick: New Orleans Saints -2
