Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards requested DNA testing from Ayesha Howard the day after the iNFLuencer gave birth to a baby girl.
According to documents obtained by Us Weekly, Edwards, 23, filed a new motion in relation to a paternity suit he brought against Howard in September. In Touch broke the news of the motion.
In the paperwork — which was filed October 15, the day after Howard gave birth — Edwards asked for DNA testing by a “neutral and licensed laboratory” to determine if he is the father.
Us Weekly has reached out to Edwards’ lawyer and Howard for comment, but has not heard back at the time of publication.
Edwards, who began his fourth season in the NBA this week after winning a gold medal with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics this summer, previously filed a paternity suit with the state of Georgia in September. Howard has not yet been served the paternity papers.
According to those docs obtained by Us Weekly, Edwards requested genetic testing be performed on the unborn baby. If testing proved that Edwards was the father, he requested an order establishing the baby’s paternity and child support.
The documents stated Edwards was unaware of any other individual with physical custody or visitation rights.
Edwards and his girlfriend, Shannon Jackson, welcomed their first daughter, Aislynn, in March 2024. According to Page Six, Edwards is also the rumored father of two other kids with two other women, both born in 2023.
Howard, who also shares son Jason, 9, with rapper Lil Baby, announced the birth of her new baby girl via Instagram on Tuesday, October 22.
“Golden girls ✨💜👑 10/14,” Howard wrote, which is believed to be the baby’s birthdate.
Howard shared a picture of the newborn via Instagram Stories, with a large purple heart blocking out the baby’s face. “MoMMA doll baby 🥹,” she captioned the photo.
In a separate post via her Story, Howard gave some details about the difficult birth.
“It was painful but I did it and within 15 mins 🥹my girls was 8 lbs 💕can’t wait to tell you all about it,” she wrote.

In the comments of her birth announcement, Howard’s friends and followers congratulated her on the big reveal.
“Clock That Tea honey!!!! I knew you were off the scene for a reason. Congratulations sis 🥳💖,” one person wrote. Another commented, “Awww & you said you wanted a Girl congrats 💕💕💕.”
