NBA Scout Gets Brutally Honest About Bronny Ahead Of 2024 NBA Draft
Bronny James is by far the most polarizing prospect in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Because he is the son of LeBron James, folks are fiercely divided on whether he is good enough to play pro ball or simply coasting on a family name.
This week, insider Marc Spears shared what NBA scouts have relayed to him as it pertains to Bronny.
“I still don’t think he’s ready, but he did some good things [at the Draft Combine],” a scout told Spears.

“He’s on the smaller side, so he’s gonna have to be elite on defense. You can see he has good vision, makes the right passes, and takes good shots. He’s gonna need some more time. If the Lakers don’t draft him, I don’t see anyone drafting him. Teams will want him on a two-way and I don’t think Klutch would want that.”
That was one of the more positive takes on Bronny that Spears received. He also got some negative ones.
“His comp: A poor man’s Davion Mitchell. He’s not an NBA prospect in my opinion,” another scout offered.
Player comps, of course, are just predictions. Nobody will actually know what sort of player Bronny will turn into until he finally makes it to the pros.
Bronny Is Garnering Interest From Multiple NBA Teams
Despite all the haters and naysayers questioning whether he belongs in the NBA, Bronny seems to be getting a ton of interesting from teams around the league.
A few days ago, ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst revealed which team is prepared to draft Bronny no matter what. Shortly thereafter, a dark horse suitor began to express interest in stealing him away.
Bronny, for his part, is just excited by what this process has in stock for him. He firmly believes that teams won’t just draft him because of who his dad is. And he has gotten brutally honest with the media on whether he actually even wants to play with his father.
One way or another, Bronny will learn his NBA future over the next few months. Where will he ultimately be playing when everything is said and done? Time will tell.
