Luck definitely avoided us on Thursday as our Same Game Parlay for Game 1 was just a single Luka Doncic point short of landing at +638 odds. That shouldn’t discourage us from giving it another go in Game 2 though; tip-off is on Sunday at 8 pm ET on ABC. Scroll further down to see my bet!

DAL Mavericks Money Line (+225)

Kristaps Porzingis Over 1.5 Made Threes (-132)

Same Game Parlay odds: +427

DAL Mavericks Money Line (+225)

The Dallas we saw in the series opener looked nothing like the team that broke through out of the Western Conference this postseason. They recorded just 9 assists total, their lowest number all year long. Luka Doncic did get his 30 points, but he himself had just 1 assist which tells you everything you need to know. After a loss Doncic averages 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds and 9.8 assists per game this season, so I’m expecting a bounce back performance.

In general, the Mavericks have responded well after losses this postseason, getting a win every single time. Granted, this Boston team is a challenge unlike any other they’ve faced, but I have a ton of confidence in head coach Jason Kidd to make the adjustments needed here. It’s also worth noting that Boston’s only two defeats this postseason came in Game 2s of their series vs Miami and the Cavaliers. Going down 2-0 would be a difficult task to come back from, so I’ll happily take the Mavericks to bounce back in a big way here.

Kristaps Porzingis Over 1.5 Made Threes (-132)

Porzingis did everything for the Celtics in Game 1. After a somewhat slow start from his team, KP came off the bench and seemingly lifted everyone. From getting blocks, to draining a couple of threes, he was pivotal in the Cs winning that opening period 37-20, which ultimately decided the Game as the two teams went 70-69 the rest of the way. I’m expecting more of the same from the Latvian in Game 2. Dallas isn’t really equipped to handle a player like him, his 7-foot-3 frame will cause problems for the likes of Maxi Kleber, Daniel Gafford and Derrick Lively II, who will once again have to make a decision whether or not they want to step outside and guard the three ball, which will leave the middle exposed. KP made 8 of 13 shot attempts in Game 1, including 2 of 4 from deep in just 21 minutes played. As he gets more comfortable with his calf, his minutes will go up and he also might get inserted into the starting line-up as well. I think draining a pair of threes is a really solid bet for Game 2.
