The Hoops booked their place in next month’s showpiece final last night when they thumped Aberdeen by six goals to nil at Hampden.

Cameron Carter-Vickers, Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda, and Nicolas Kuhn all scored in the dominant win.

Brendan Rodgers and Co. will closely monitor proceedings at the national stadium today when Motherwell face the Gers in the second last-four clash.

A date with Celtic in the final awaits the victor of the match, which kicks off at 3pm this afternoon.

Casey, who joined the Steelmen from Sacramento on a free transfer at the beginning of last year, wants to cause an upset.

He will take inspiration from his side’s 2-1 win at Ibrox last season as he seeks to do so.

“That was a feeling I’ll never forget; it was amazing,” said the Dubliner [The Scottish Sun], reflecting on the goal he scored in Govan a few months ago.

“Getting a result at Ibrox is hard to come by, so to get the winning goal was the stuff of dreams for me.

“When it happened, I wasn’t really aware of the history or magnitude of it.

“It was nice. Growing up, I was a Celtic fan as well, so it was even sweeter.”

Casey’s sister is playing in a gaelic Football final today, with the family split between two matches.

“Hopefully, we can get two wins on the day!” said Casey.

Brendan Rodgers won’t be too bothered about who Celtic face in the final because he knows his side are levels above anyone in Scottish football.

That was no more coherent than yesterday. Aberdeen are currently the second-best team in Scottish football, and the Bhoys blew them away.

Six goals and a clean sheet made for a productive afternoon’s work for the Hoops, who are now looking forward to Tuesday’s Champions League clash with RB Leipzig.
