MLB picks Wednesday 9/20: YRFI & NRFI best bets today | Pickswise
With plenty of MLB Games taking place each day, one of the quickest bets you can make is if a run will be scored in the first inning. There is value to be had and this market has become very popular over time. If you don’t like sweating out your bets for 3 hours, this one will take only about 15 minutes.
I’m on a 31-15 run with my YRFI/NRFI plays, so let’s keep this momentum going! But before we dive in, don’t forget to check out our MLB picks for each of today’s matchups.

Toronto Blue Jays vs New York Yankees: NRFI (-130)
For my first pick on today’s slate, I’m going with the NRFI in this matchup between the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees. This AL East matchup holds a ton of intrigue, as the Blue Jays are in desperate need of a win in order to further their push for an AL Wild Card spot. Fortunately for the visitors, they’ll have Kevin Gausman on the mound on Wednesday. Gausman has been very strong all season long, holding an ERA of 3.40 with a strikeout rate and chase rate inside the top 10 percentile. He should set down New York in short order in the top of the first, and the same should be true of Michael King, who has surrendered just 3 runs over his last 5 outings while lowering his ERA to 2.77 on the season. Let’s roll with a quick inning in the Bronx.

Boston Red Sox vs Texas Rangers: YRFI (-110)
For my second pick on Wednesday’s card, I’ll be targeting the YRFI in this matchup between the Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers. The Rangers are in desperate need of a win to keep pace in the Wild Card race. Fortunately, they’ll be at home — a place where they’re one of the best teams in baseball — facing a reeling Red Sox side that can’t get anything going at the plate of late. However, that could change against Texas starter Jon Gray, whose xERA of 4.46 suggests that regression is in store against a lineup dominated by left-handed hitters at the top. On the other side, the Rangers generally hit right-handed pitching very well at home, and Brayan Bello’s middling underlying metrics across the board shouldn’t scare anyone. Look for at least one of these teams to scratch across an early run.
