MLB picks Sunday 6/11: YRFI & NRFI best bets today | Pickswise

Texas Rangers vs Tampa Bay Rays: NRFI (-130)

To start off with our NRFI selection on Sunday’s card, I’m going to back both pitchers in this Rangers vs Rays matchup. Martin Perez gets the ball for Texas in this one, and that’s a good sign for the Rangers. The right-hander has pitched to a 3.97 ERA this season, but has allowed 2 earned runs or less in 7 of his 10 outings. He should see more success against Tampa Bay, a lineup that has limited at-bats against Perez to this point. On the other side, the Rays are countering with Shane McClanahan, who is currently the AL Cy Young favorite, and for good reason. With a 2.02 ERA and just 14 ER allowed over his last 10 starts, the southpaw should dominate once again on Sunday. I’d expect a quick first inning in this one.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs Detroit Tigers: NRFI (-125)

For our other NRFI pick, we’re going to take a shot on a scoreless inning in this Diamondbacks vs Tigers game. The Arizona side of things shouldn’t be a problem. After all, Zac Gallen is taking the mound for the NL West-leading Diamondbacks and he should have no trouble shutting down a Tigers offense that is one of the worst in the league in most statistical categories, including SLG and OPS. Gallen is one of the best pitchers in baseball and should prove it once again in the opening frame. The reason why we’re getting value on this pick is that Tigers starter Joey Wentz (7.49 ERA, 1.76 WHIP) is on the other side. However, we just need 3 outs and Wentz has tossed a scoreless frame in 5 of his last 8 outings. I’ll take a chance on the NRFI at these odds.
