The American League Championship and it features what should be a terrific matchup between the Houston Texas and Texas Rangers on Thursday. While there are plenty of ways to wager on all of the action this postseason, one of the quickest bets you can make is if a run will be scored in the first inning. Even at this point in the season, there is still value to be had in this market, so it’s no wonder that these bets have become very popular over time. If you don’t like sweating out your wagers for 3 hours, this one will take only about 15 minutes.

I’m currently on a 40-22 run with my YRFI/NRFI plays, so let’s keep this momentum going! But before we dive in, don’t forget to check out our MLB picks for today’s postseason matchup.

Texas Rangers vs Houston Astros: YRFI (-105)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Seeing as we have only a single Game in store on Sunday, I have only one pick in the YRFI/NRFI market for the Championship Series Games on tap. And for this pick, I’ll be going with the YRFI in this American League matchup between the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros. This has been a bet that cashed in Game 2 of this series with this exact same pitching matchup, and I think we’ll get back to the window once again by going against these (very good) offenses in Game 6.

This bet hinges on backing a pair of offenses that have been dominating against opposing pitchers all season long, and that’s continued into this series. Between the likes of Corey Seager, Marcus Semien and Adolis Garcia on one side, plus Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman and Yordan Alvarez in the other dugout, we should be able to generate a run in the opening frame. More importantly, we just saw this pitching matchup in Game 2 and the starters were shaky to start the game. Framber Valdez is pitching at home once again, but that hasn’t mattered in each of his 2 starts this postseason, as he’s allowed a combined 9 runs and 14 hits during these playoffs. Furthermore, while Nathan Eovaldi has been great in his postseason career, I don’t expect him to have another great game on the road. Let’s back an early run in Houston.
