The week in Major League Baseball continues with a minuscule five-Game slate on Tuesday. It includes Orioles at Guardians, Marlins at Braves and Cardinals at Cubs.

Below is my mega parlay, and don’t forget to check out all of our MLB picks and MLB parlay for today, August 1.

Royals -1.5 (+102)

Marlins ML (+168)

Rockies ML (+110)

MLB parlay odds: +1037

For this parlay, I am going with one favorite on the run line and two underdogs on the money line. Let’s break down each of the three legs.

Kansas City Royals -1.5 over Detroit Tigers (+102)

Seth Lugo is toeing the rubber this evening, and that can only be considered good news for Kansas City. Lugo is 12-5 with a 2.66 ERA and 1.04 WHIP to go with a 124-to-32 strikeout-to-walk ratio. The right-hander has faced Detroit once this year, and to say that start was dominant would be an understatement. He worked 7.0 innings of shutout baseball with 9 strikeouts and just 3 hits allowed. The Royals have won three in a row and are 9-4 since the all-star break. There is no reason to think they will cool down with Lugo on the mound against a Detroit club that has lost three straight and is 2-6 in its last eight overall.

Miami Marlins ML over Atlanta Braves (+168)

The Marlins are 40-68 and were obviously sellers at the trade deadline, but they are actually playing respectable baseball. Miami is 7-5 since the all-star break and 5-3 in its last eight Games. Jake Burger has three multi-hit performances in the previous five contests and has belted 3 home runs during this stretch. As for the Braves, they don’t inspire any confidence when anyone other than Chris Sale or Reynaldo Lopez is on the mound. It’s Charlie Morton going today, which gives the Fish a prime opportunity to pull off a big upset. Morton isn’t hopeless, but the 40-year-old is well past his prime – and pitching like it (5-6, 4.16 ERA). Give me the long odds.

Colorado Rockies ML over Los Angeles Angels (+110)

It is true that the Rockies stink and that Ryan Feltner is 1-10. They head into Thursday’s series finale against the Angels with a 39-70 record. Nonetheless, there are reasons to like their chances tonight. Feltner has actually pitched well of late. The right-hander compiled a 2.51 ERA in July with three starts of at least 6.0 innings pitched and no more than 2 runs allowed. He also made a start with 5.0 innings and 1 run surrendered. Additional good news for Colorado is that Los Angeles is also terrible. The Angels are 47-61, and Carson Fulmer is by no means anything special on the mound. He is a recently converted reliever who has made 27 appearances in 2024, but only three of them have been starts. The Rockies have intriguing value as underdogs.
