The young 2024 Major League Baseball season begins its second full week with a 13-Game slate on Monday. It includes the conclusion of a 4-Game series in the American League West between Houston and Texas, while the Mets are paying a visit to Atlanta and the Cubs are taking their talents to San Diego.

Below is my mega parlay for Monday; MMArErrorV2Themed SCXW106944420 BCX0">also be sure to check out all of MMArErrorV2Themed SCXW106944420 BCX0">our MLB picks.

Mariners ML (+100)

Dodgers -1.5 (+125)

Astros -1.5 (+116)

MLB parlay odds: +872

For this parlay I am going with 2 favorites on the run line and 1 underdog on the money line. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Seattle Mariners ML over Toronto Blue Jays (+100)

Castillo is 0-2 through 2 starts this season, so you have to think he’s due for a win. A “he’s due” argument obviously isn’t strong enough to convince anyone, but Castill really should be in line for a strong outing. Over the past 2 years he has worked 18.1 innings against Toronto while allowing only 4 runs. The Blue Jays haven’t been hitting much at all so far in 2024. They have scored 3 runs or fewer in 5 of the last 6 games and in 7 of the last 9. Jose Having Jose Berrios on the mound is generally good news for the Jays, but if they can’t hit then even Berrios may not be enough. Seattle has good value as a slight underdog.

Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 over Minnesota Twins (+125)

The Dodgers are coming off their first series loss of the season on the road against the Cubs and should be eager to bounce back at Minnesota’s expense. Aside from its hiccup at Wrigley Field, Los Angeles has been raking so far in 2024 to the tune of a .279 team batting average and 15 home runs. By contrast, the Twins have struggled offensively – batting a mere .191 with 3 homers. Minnesota is 3-4 overall and 0-2 at home. The pitching matchup favors L.A., as well. James Paxton pitched 5.0 innings of scoreless baseball against San Francisco last Monday. For the Twins, Bailey Ober gave up 8 runs and 9 hits in just 1.1 innings against Kansas City. That doesn’t bode well for Ober’s chances of containing perhaps the most ferocious lineup in baseball.

Houston Astros -1.5 over Texas Rangers (+116)

Framber Valdez is off to a hot start to the 2024 campaign for Houston, which is no surprise given his track record of MLB success. Valdez pitched 7.2 innings of shutout baseball this past Tuesday against the Angels, lowering his ERA to 2.19 for the season. It is true that the Rangers roughed him up pretty good during the 2023 postseason, but in the left-hander’s lone start in Texas last year he held them to 1 run in 7.0 innings of work during a 14-1 rout by Houston. Although the Astros are just 3-7 so far, the sample size is small and it’s no time to panic. They also have some momentum after beating Texas 3-1 on Sunday night in the third Game of this 4-Game set. I’m happy to back the visitors riding Valdez to another multi-run victory.
