The week in Major League Baseball continues with a modest 7-Game slate on Thursday. It’s a typical Thursday schedule, with plenty of teams in between series or playing in the afternoon before heading out on the road to begin new ones on Friday. Four of the 7 contests are afternoon affairs, including Dodgers at Brewers and Braves at Giants. The nightcap pits the Twins against the Rangers.

Below is my mega parlay, and also be sure to check out all of MMArErrorV2Themed SCXW256814386 BCX0">our MLB picks.

Dodgers -1.5 (+120)

Braves ML (+100)

Orioles -1.5 (+145)

MLB parlay odds: +978

For this parlay I am going with 2 favorites on the run line and 1 underdog on the money line. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 over Milwaukee Brewers (+120)

Trade-deadline acquisition Jack Flaherty is back on the bump for Los Angeles on Thursday. The righty is 9-5 with a 2.97 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP to go along with 150 strikeouts and just 21 walks in 118.1 innings. He MMArErrorV2Themed SCXW256814386 BCX0">is sporting a 3.09 ERA in 2 appearances since the trade with Detroit and the Dodgers have won both of his starts – 10-0 over Oakland and 9-5 over Pittsburgh. Freddie Freeman has returned from a 10-day absence and Shohei Ohtani is bashing homers at his typically impressive rate (5 already in August), so it’s not like Flaherty will have to put up blanks every single inning in order for L.A. to prevail by multiple runs. Tobias Myers is pitching well for the Brew Crew, but the Dodgers’ offense can hit anyone.

Atlanta Braves ML over San Francisco Giants (+100)

The Braves seemed to hit rock bottom with a disastrous 9-8 loss at Colorado this past Sunday, when they gave up 7 runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. However, they have bounced back in impressive fashion. Atlanta took the first 2 Games of its series at San Francisco in extra innings and then destroyed the Giants 13-2 on Wednesday. In his first Game in exactly 2 months, Michael Harris belted a grand slam in the first inning. Jorge Soler (hamstring) probably won’t play in this one, but Harris’ return will help mitigate that absence. The Braves are turning to Max Fried as they go for the sweep this afternoon. Fried has not been great since his return from a forearm issue, but the sample size is small. He is the ace of this team – a team that has momentum back on its side.

Baltimore Orioles -1.5 over Boston Red Sox (+145)

Baltimore is barely over .500 since the all-star break, but confidence has to be high with Zach Eflin on the mound to begin a 4-game series at Boston. The right-hander has been outstanding since being acquired from Tampa Bay. All 3 of his starts in the new uniform have been quality: 3 runs allowed in 6.0 innings, 2 runs in 6.1 innings and zero runs in 7.0 innings. Eflin boasts a 17-to-2 strikeout-to-walk ratio over his past 3 starts. Unsurprisingly, the Orioles won all 3 of those contests. The Red Sox are countering with Nick Pivetta, who is 5-7 with a 4.44 ERA. Both Cedric Mullins (9-for-27) and Anthony Santander (4-for-12) are batting .333 lifetime against Pivetta. The Sox are 2-5 in their last 7 overall and 2-3 in Pivetta’s last 5 starts. Count on Eflin getting enough run support to win by multiple runs.
