Cubs -1.5 (+122)

Blue Jays ML (+122)

Dodgers -1.5 (-102)

MLB parlay odds: +876

For this MLB parlay, I am going with 2 favorites on the run line and 1 underdog on the money line. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Chicago Cubs -1.5 over Colorado Rockies (+122)

This looks like a mismatch between a team that should be heading to the playoffs and another than may be one of the worst in the league. Early returns indicate as much, with the Cubs having won 3 in a row and the Rockies limping into Wrigley Field with a 1-5 record. Chicago has bounced back from 2 losses to begin the season by outscoring opponents 26-7 over the past 3. Cody Bellinger (2 home runs, 8 RBIs) is heating up nicely and the Cubs’ lineup as a whole should continue to victimize a Rockies pitching staff that has already been a disaster (7.02 ERA and 1.83 WHIP). Colorado starter Cal Quantrill was rocked for 5 earned runs in his season debut. He has particularly struggled against the Cubs, allowing 6 runs in his last start against them in 2023. Look for the home team to prevail by multiple runs.

Toronto Blue Jays ML over Houston Astros (+122)

The Blue Jays’ bats have largely been held in check so far this season, but in 2 of their 3 wins they have scored 9 and 8 runs. There is power in that lineup, which is obvious when you simply look at the batting order. If Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and company can even do modest amount of work on Wednesday, Toronto will have a great chance to pull off a minor upset. Chris Bassitt struggled in his season debut last week, but he was outstanding against Houston in a pair of starts last year. In 14.1 total innings, the right-hander allowed only 2 runs on 7 hits while striking out 10 batters. The Astros are off to a 1-5 start and have scored a mere 12 total runs in their 5 losses, so this is a nice spot for the Jays.

Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 over San Francisco Giants (-102)

The Giants had an early lead yesterday but couldn’t hold on in a 5-4 loss to their division rivals. That is a tough one to swallow because they had ace Logan Webb on the hill. It doesn’t bode well for their chances without Webb, either, although Kyle Harrison has plenty of promise. Of course, Harrison has a rough matchup on his hands in the form of LA. Mookie Betts leads Major League Baseball with 5 home runs and Teoscar Hernandez is second with 4. Just wait until Shohei Ohtani gets going. Moreover, the Dodgers have Tyler Glasnow on the mound tonight. He has worked at least 5.0 innings in each of his 2 starts with his new club and has not allowed more than 2 runs on any occasion. Give me the Dodgers to win big.
