The Toronto Blue Jays and the Minnesota Twins meet Friday in MLB action from Target Field. Here’s a Minnesota Twins vs Toronto Blue Jays prediction. This will be the first installment in a three-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Twins vs Blue Jays pick.

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

The Jays are coming off a series versus the Boston Red Sox. Toronto split the first two Games, then on Wednesday the team fell 3-0. In the finale, the Jays posted a 2-0 shutout win. Bowden Francis was great in the start on 7.0 clean frames, one hit, no walks and five Ks.

In the starter slot for Toronto on Friday it’ll be Kevin Gausman. So far Gausman is 12-9 with a 4.10 ERA in 26 starts. Gausman is an even 100-100 in his career with a 3.86 ERA in 324 Games (285 starts).

Minnesota Twins Betting Preview

Over on the Twins’ side, they played the Atlanta Braves in their last set. Minnesota lost 10-6 and 8-6 before a 5-1 loss in the finale to complete the sweep. Starter David Festa put up 6.0 innings with two earned runs on two hits and a walk alongside seven Ks.

As starting pitcher Friday the Twins are sending out Pablo Lopez. This year Lopez is 12-8 with a 4.26 ERA in 26 starts. Over 152 career Games, Lopez is 51-47 with a 3.93 ERA.

Minnesota Twins vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

I’ll go with the Twins, even though they’ve lost their last four. Lopez is on a nice run right now. Over his last three starts Lopez is 2-0 with just two earned (both in the same Game) in 19.0 innings of work. As for Gausman, he should do pretty well also. Gausman is 2-1 in his last trio with four earned over 19.0 innings total.

Minnesota does need a good bounce-back after that last series, though. The Twins really only had one bad inning (four runs) in the finale loss, but the real trouble is that they gave up a whopping 23 runs across those three outings. Lopez should be able to start things off well Friday; it’ll be up to the pen to back him up and stop this losing streak.
