Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta insists he is not worried about the winner of Sunday's mammoth clash between Liverpool and Manchester City.

Arteta's side face Brentford on Saturday evening and have the chance to move top of the Premier League table, putting pressure on their two title rivals.

In what could be a season-defining match, Arteta insists he plans to sit down and enjoy two top teams playing Football before worrying about the impact it will have on his side later.

"I can't control it," he said. "I will enjoy a magnificent Game of Football between two of the best teams in Europe in the last decade and let's see what that brings, but the focus is on us and Brentford. Privately and publicly I have the same [answer] because it's nothing to do with me.

"We know the demands that we have and the demands that Brentford are going to ask us to win the match and identify that. We are still not [top of the league] and we want to be better than where we are at the moment, and the other two are, so we have to continue to win."

Asked whether he is secretly hoping for a draw between his two rivals, Arteta stressed: "Honestly, it is nothing to do with me. I will sit down with my kids and enjoy the match."

However, before getting carried away with Sunday's Game, Arteta insisted Arsenal have a job to do against a tricky Brentford side.

"That's the only thing we can control - perform well, play better than them and earn the right to win the game," he said. "Let’s do that and if we do that then on Sunday it's a beautiful game to watch for any football supporter, and I will certainly be watching it."

Arteta went on to admit that he understands why fans see this season as the best title race in Premier League history.

"I can imagine that for a lot of people it is very interesting and we want to make it very interesting, especially for us, so we have to keep going," he confessed.
