Mexico - USMNT live online: score, stats and updates | CONCACAF Nations League
After suffering a major fright in the semi-finals, the United States men’s national team now face North American arch rivals Mexico in the final of the CONCACAF Nations League.
The USMNT needed a 96th-minute equaliser to force extra time against underdogs Jamaica on Thursday, before Haji Wright’s double earned the Stars and Stripes a 3-1 win. Meanwhile, Mexico beat Panama 3-0 in the day’s other last-four clash - but El Tri boss Jaime Lozano felt the scoreline flattered his side.
“It’s soccer and we made mistakes,” Lozano said post-match. “And, luckily for us, [Panama] couldn’t take advantage of them. We made some important interceptions to stop them. The final score is very misleading.”
Winners of both editions of the Nations League so far, the USMNT are on a six-game unbeaten run against the Mexicans. That sequence began in the inaugural Nations League final in 2021, when Christian Pulisic’s extra-time penalty gave the Americans a 3-2 victory.
