Megan Fox approves of Machine Gun Kelly’s ‘really elegant’ blackout tattoos: ‘Spiritual initiation’
Megan Fox is applauding Machine Gun Kelly’s new ink.
The “Jennifer’s Body” actress, 37, got candid on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast, out Wednesday, on a variety of topics ranging from plastic surgery to her previous marriage to Brian Austin Green and her thoughts on her on-again fiancé’s blackout tattoos, which cover the entirety of his arms, chest and upper back.
Fox told Cooper that the tattoos, which the “Bloody Valentine” singer debuted on Instagram last month, came to be because of the mixed emotions he had with the tattoos he covered up.
“The relationship with the tattoos that he had was very conflicted emotionally, whatever they represented — and I don’t actually know,” she said on the podcast, “but he didn’t like to revisit those memories of some of the tattoos that he had and he wanted to get rid of them.”

She also revealed that MGK did not go under anesthesia for his arms-length pieces.
“I don’t know how many people can take that kind of pain,” Fox said, adding that people can opt to be put to sleep during that type of tattoo, but Kelly, 33, did it awake “with no pain killers.”
“I don’t actually know how he endured that level of pain,” Fox later added.
When asked if she was present for any of Kelly’s sessions, Fox shared that the tattoos felt like a “spiritual initiation,” saying she didn’t feel she need to be there.
The “Transformers” actress went on to say how she really feels about the “Emo Girl” singer’s new body art, giving her stamp of approval despite mixed reactions from fans.
“It’s like an elevated version of all those tattoos that were pieced together,” Fox said. “I think it’s really elegant and it’s kind of ahead of its time. I think in 10 years it’ll be a trend.”
As for Kelly, he admitted that he had a “breakdown” before getting the new blackout design in his new song, “Don’t Let Me Go,” with lyrics like, “Wish I didn’t listen just like I wish they would understand me one time / I had a breakdown and tatted my entire body except one line / Everything’s just fine.”
While praising the singer’s body art, the movie star also confirmed she and Kelly called off their engagement at one point and played coy about their current wedding plans.
“What I’ve learned from being in this relationship is that it’s not for public consumption,” she said. “So I think as of now, I don’t have a comment on the status of the relationship per se.”
The couple confirmed dating rumors in June 2020 and announced their engagement in January 2022.
The movie star and singer were known for their unapologetic PDA, which made its way to red carpets and award shows — and even the tattoo shop, with Fox inking his name on her chest and the duo have more than one matching design, too.
Perhaps another session is in Fox’s future.
