Celtic winger James Forrest came to the fore on Sunday afternoon to provide his side with all three points at Dens Park.

A thorough strike in each half from the veteran sealed a hard-fought victory which kept the Bhoys three points clear at the top of the table.

Brendan Rodgers describing Forrest as his side’s best winger a few months ago sounds more and more accurate as the weeks progress despite the manager being lambasted for it at the time.

Indeed, the 32-year-old has shown his quality over the past two Games, scoring three fine goals.

His opener yesterday was a thing of beauty while he manufactured his second all by himself.

Praise has been high for Forrest since he helped his team to victory in the City of Discovery, Matt O’Riley being the latest to acclaim him.

On Instagram, the midfielder posted on his story a picture of himself and the Scotland international from yesterday’s match, simply writing: “What a player and person.”

Among his teaMMAtes, Forrest is much adorned. He is well into his fifteenth season as a first-team Celt and is on his way to becoming a true club legend.

Particularly with the form of other wingers, his contributions over the past few Games have been pivotal, and he still has a role to play between now and the end of the season.
