Martin Tyler Set for Celtic Park Champions League ‘Assignment’
Legendary Football commentator Martin Tyler is set to visit Celtic Park next Tuesday when the Hoops take on RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League.
Brendan Rodgers’ men have started well in Europe’s premier club comPetition, registering four points from their opening three Games.
Borussia Dortmund aside, the Bhoys have coped well with the demands at the top level, and the new league phase format seems to benefit them.
Next up for the Celts is familiar foes RB Leipzig at Parkhead next midweek.
The Germans remain level on points with Bayern Munich at the Bundesliga summit but have lost all of their Champions League Games up to this point.
They will come to Glasgow next midweek in desperate need of some points.
Calling the action for presumably ITV’s highlights package will be the world-renowned Martin Tyler. Recognised for some top-tier commentary moments through the years, Celtic fans will hope he can come up with another in their favour next Tuesday.
Recently speaking on The Joy of Football podcast, the 79-year-old revealed he is preparing for an upcoming job at Parkhead while heaping praise on Motherwell’s Lennon Miller.
“You, and many of you watching and listening, may not have heard of Lennon Miller,” he said.
“I’m doing some preparation on Celtic for a Champions League assignment in a few days’ time, and they were playing Motherwell and this young man caught my eye.”
Parkhead will be rocking next Tuesday night.
Tyler doesn’t often commentate on Celtic’s games, so he will be hoping for a special performance which continues the Bhoys’ positive start to the league phase.
