Manchester City fans in New York will not want to miss this opportunity
Ahead of Manchester City’s pre-season tour of the United States this summer, the English champions have announced the opening of a new pop-up CityStore at Rockefeller Center in the heart of New York City, where fans will have the opportunity to get their hands on the Premier League trophy...or almost, at least.
Where and when does the City store in New York open?
Located at 1230 Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue) on the corner of 49th Street, the store will officially open from Saturday 1 June (at 10:00 a.m. ET) until Sunday 22 September, offering fans the chance to get their hands on a whole host of City merchandise, including personalised replica kits.
The main attraction, however, might well be the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne, as well as legendary figures such as David Beckham before them. OK, there’s probably a chance you’ll get into trouble if you touch the Premier League trophy, but you’ll certainly be able to get a picture of yourself next to it, just like some of your favourite stars.
You’ll have to be fast though, as the trophy will only be in the store on Saturday 1, Sunday 2 and Monday 3 June from 10am to 7pm.
United States market “providing exciting opportunities for Manchester City”
Serena Gosling, Director of Integrated Fan Experience and Retail & Licensing at Manchester City, said: “We are very excited to announce the launch of our brand new store in the heart of New York City, marking another huge milestone for our global retail offering.
“The US market continues to provide exciting opportunities for Manchester City to grow and we’ve experienced an increase in engagement and support from the region over the past few years across a number of areas.
“Ahead of our summer tour, this store offers a further touchpoint for our fans within the US to engage with the club and we’d like to thank our retail partner stichd and its staff for their support.”
