“This is everything. I’m telling you; I wouldn’t be here without the support of everyone in [Dodgers] shirts tonight,” Freeman told reporters after the game, pointing to the World Series trophy. “That’s what it’s about!”

The win came as Freeman has been battling a rough year. The MLB star’s 3-year-old son Max was hospitalized in July after he was unable to stand or walk. The toddler was eventually diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome.

“Every spring training, this is our goal,” Freeman continued on Wednesday. “And for it to come true, with this group of guys, I can’t have asked for a better year. Holy cow.”
