Las Vegas NBA Summer League 2024 format explained: teams, games, bracket...

The world of basketball turns its focus to the city of Las Vegas for the next ten days with all 30 NBA teams set to participate in the NBA 2K25 Summer League 2024 which runs from 12-22 July in Vegas.

Each team will play at least five games, including four games from July 12-19 and it affords NBA teams an opportunity to give younger players, rookies and some teams will field regular big name stars as thoughts turn towards the new season which commences in October.

The opening game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic is on Friday 12 July, and that will kick off a feast of basketball that leads up to the Championship final on 22 July with the entire tournament being staged at The Thomas & Mack Center, a 19,000 capacity multi-purpose arena located on the campus of the University of Nevada in Vegas.

Summer League format

After completing their four games, those teams that are in the top four positions will advance to the playoffs with these two semi-final games scheduled to take place on 21 July. The top sides will be determined by winning percentages in their four regular games. The winners will advance to the final which will be the last game of the Summer League and is earmarked to take place on 22 July at 9pm ET.

The 26 teams that do not advance to the four-team playoff will play a fifth consolation Game on either 20/21 July.

Summer League: Where to watch?

All Games will be carried by both ESPN and NBA TV (via the NBA Pass).

Tickets for the Summer League can be purchased on a daily basis (starting at $45 for adults) with season ticket and VIP options also available.
