Mauricio Umansky claimed that Kyle Richards encouraged him to date other people when she initiated their separation.

“I had an amazing 26 years with your mom –– an amazing 26 years. I wanted to do everything possible to just save it,” Umansky told three of his and Richards’ daughters in a preview clip for Season 2 of Netflix’s “Buying Beverly Hills” released Tuesday.

Umansky explained to a tearful Farrah, Alexia and Sophia Umansky that their mom came to him and told him, “‘I think I need space.'”

“‘I’m not going to be asking you what you’re doing. I don’t want you to be asking me what I’m doing,'” Umansky recalled Richards telling him. Netflix

“She said to me, ‘Listen, the rules are that, you know, you go out, you date, you do whatever it is that you wanna do. Like, I’m not going to be asking you what you’re doing. I don’t want you to be asking me what I’m doing. Like, we are separated,'” Umansky, 53, recalled from a conversation with Richards, 55.

Umansky added that he now needs “some time and a clear head,” so he may spend some time at their shared home in Aspen, Colo.

“It’s so weird to even be having these conversations,” Farrah, 35, told her dad with glossy eyes.

Sophia, 24, also got emotional and began wiping away tears while reflecting on how “our life has just changed so much.”

“I definitely could not have predicted where my life was going to be one year ago — in all aspects,” Farrah added.

Sophia continued crying and expressed how they “only even found out that there was any issues just a few months ago and now it just is like, things change so quickly.”

“I’m sorry we’re all going through this. I’m sorry for all of us. I’m sorry for you guys. I’m sorry for you,” Alexia, 27, chimed in and pointed to her dad for the last part.

The preview dropped just one day before one of Richards and Umansky’s first conversations with their children about the separation will air during the season finale of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

At this time, it’s unclear what details the former couple –– who also share daughter Portia, 16 –– chose to tell their children in the upcoming episode of “RHOBH,” but it resulted in every person in their family of six getting emotional.

“We are a very strong family, and we always will be, always will be. You know nothing can change that,” Richards told her kids in the “RHOBH” trailer.

Since news of their separation broke over the summer, Richards has spoken out about the separation and confirmed that she was the one to initiate the split.

The Bravolebrity also recently confessed to Entertainment Tonight that she and Umansky are “free to do what we want” with their separate love lives.

Richards later admitted to People that their current family status is “kind of strange,” since neither one of them have filed for divorce.

“We’re a family no matter what, and we love each other, and we’re just trying to figure it out. So right now, it’s not on pause. We’re actively navigating through this and working through it,” she said at the People’s Choice Awards on Sunday.

“We’re not going to be in this situation forever, whichever way that goes,” she added. “Time will tell, probably sooner than later, but we’re hanging in there. The good thing is we get along well, and we were at an event last night together with the family.”

The finale of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo, and Season 2 of “Buying Beverly Hills” premieres March 22 on Netflix.
