Kasper Schmeichel’s ‘Perfect’ Saturday Night Celtic Social Media Post
Kasper Schmeichel took to Instagram after Celtic’s 2-0 win over Hearts to express his satisfaction with both the team’s performance and his personal achievements. He wrote:
“The perfect Saturday. Important win today going into a massive week. Can’t wait to experience Celtic Park for the Champions League…”
Schmeichel’s post came as he secured his fifth consecutive clean sheet in the Scottish Premiership, equalling a club record that has stood since 1906. The Danish goalkeeper’s arrival this summer has been transformative, with Celtic yet to concede a single goal in the league.
It was another three points for Celtic against Hearts, Arne Engels opened the scoring with a penalty after VAR overturned a penalty claim for Hearts, and Luke McCowan added a second in the closing stages. Schmeichel’s calm presence at the back ensured another flawless defensive display as Celtic maintained their unbeaten start to the season.
The goalkeeper’s post highlights the excitement building ahead of Celtic’s Champions League opener against Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday. Fans will be desperate to see if Schmeichel can carry his domestic form into Europe as he prepares for his first taste of a Champions League night at Celtic Park.
