Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has equalled an 118-year Celtic record with five clean sheets in the first five league Games of the season.

The last time Celtic achieved this feat was during the 1906-07 season under the legendary manager Willie Maley when Davey Adams was in goal

What makes it even more incredible is that Celtic have won all five Games, scoring a total of 14 goals.

It’s an incredible achievement, especially considering Kasper Schmeichel only joined the Hoops this summer to replace Joe Hart.

With Joe Hart making an incredible impact at Celtic, the pressure was on Kasper Schmeichel to deliver.

However, Schmeichel has been simply sensational when called upon, and this afternoon against Hearts was no different, as he played a crucial role in the 3-0 win at Celtic Park.

Schmeichel is clearly still a world-class goalkeeper and was a real coup for Brendan Rodgers to sign the Dane in the summer, highlighting the Irishman’s incredible eye for talent.

Rodgers had previously managed Schmeichel at Leicester City, where the Danish goalkeeper also secured two clean sheets during the international break in the Nations League against Serbia and Switzerland.
