2024 Irish Open: Round 4 Sunday tee times and pairings
World number 3 Rory McIlroy showed his best on Saturday at Irish Open (staged at the Royal County Down club in Newcastle (Northern Ireland) and going into the final day holds a one hole lead over the chasing pack.
Once again, tough weather conditions tested the players with driving wind and unseasonably cold temperatures testing the field, the local hero posted a card of 69 strokes (two under par) and the 35-year-old is -6 for the tournament.
One stroke behind is Italy’s Matteo Manassero and four players are tied in third: Scotland’s Robert Macintyre, South Africa’s Erik van Royen, Denmark’s Rasmus Hojgaard and England’s Jordan Smith.
Spaniard Alejandro del Rey who impressed on the opening days to lead, struggled on Saturday and shot a 75 (+4) to drop to thirteenth place in the overall standings.
